Election 08

A Week away from election day, im here to give you some tips that will help you out on Election Day. It can be a hassle to head to the polls during a presidential election, the busy crowds before work and such, but there are some things you can do before/during this time to make it a cake walk, and of course to make sure your vote counts!

1. Call your local elections office and confirm your voting location!
This is very important due to the fact that you may have moved or changed locations and without thinking, you may have overlooked the idea that you might be voting in a different place!

2. Bring ID to the polling location you are to vote at.
This is most commonly your state issued drivers license, but can range from anything that can prove you are who you are registered to vote under!

3. Ask poll workers for help!
If you have any questions about how to vote, or something on the ballots that seems to be confusing, please, don’t hesitate to ask someone for help, they will be more than willing!

4. (This is the most important point of all) MAKE SURE TO VOTE!
The lines may be long, and you might have to get to work, but polls are open all day! You can get there on your lunch break or after you get out of work! There is no reason next week to say you did not vote because you did not have the chance.

Voting in this country is something overlooked by many people. You have a voice in this election. Even if you don’t want to be apart of this historic presidential election, there are many other reason to get out to the polls and vote on things that not only effect you as a person, but your entire community!

I personally can not wait to cast my vote for Barack Obama next week, but no matter who your voting for, why your voting or anything els that matter. VOTE. You only have one chance to make change in this country and the world. Now is the time to stand up and make it happen!

"Life After The Election"

By seanbartley. Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

Putting everything as far as ideas and point of view aside, its time to think about how much this election has impacted our daily lives.

On a personal aspect, it has been a daily thought. Somthing I have always been able to talk to friends and family about, almost like a conversation starter like, “So, its realyl cold outside today!” or “Wow, gas prices are really down from last week!”

Well folks, its almost the end of the road. A road that has been one of the longest I have ever seen, tho i have only lived through 2 elections in my short life (that I can remember without being a small child.) This time it has dragged on for a long long time.

People that I have talked to have mentioned mostly about T.V commercials as the prime annoyance of this election. I quoted someone saying “I would rather start seeing christmas ones then Obama, or McCain ones right now.” This is scary considering its not even Halloween yet! They also dream of a day when they can eat dinner in peace without the phone blowing up all night long.

I can see how people can be ready for this election to be over with. I Personaly hope that it ends the way that I belive it should tho, I have also learned alot about people during this long period of time.

I have learned that some people really do care about politics, even when they say they dont. Some people also have got involved for the very first time this election becasue it is so inportant to them and our generation. Barack Obama has given a energy to the young people that I have never seen before. John McCain has given people that are ok with the current way of politics somthing to belive in once again.

I have meet so many great people along the way as well. From meetings to meeting people along the way as we try to sway theri votes, people were for the most part, very nice and kind and ready to have an open mind about the future of our country.

So what will happen when this is all said and done? Will people just go back to their everyday lives? Or will people and the media still be caught up in the election 08 mindset for a while to come?

Its up to the people to decide our next president in november, but it will also be up to the people to decide how life goes on after a long and hard fought election.

"Ready to take on the world

By seanbartley. Posted in Uncategorized | 2 Comments »

For the past few days every time I step foot out the door, I want to go run and jump in a large bath or into a warm sauna.  I never remember it getting this corld this early in the fall before, maybe just becasue this year had not been like every other year…

Not only has this year gone by so fast but so many amazing things have happened. Let me list out for you some of the most inportant thing thus far.

-I feel like I am growing up, never before have I felt like I am ready for resposiblity and action into creating my future.

-I have meet an amazing person that fills my life with joy on a day to day bascis. Before I never really looked down on myself (ask my mother, I never have really had any selfissues so to speak) Now I am just confused as to why someone would care so much about me, tho it is becoming more clear every day.

-I have noticed reason for change, not only in my life but in the way that I think and do things.  I have got more involved in politics as im sure if you know me you have figured out by now. I have been more blunt and honest with people, and have not been so hesetant to tell people how I feel about things.

-Im ready for the future. Im ready to realize that im grown up to a point, tho im still young, I have to make alot of decisions that will impact the rest of my life.

I feel that this is a proper first blog to state how I feel about my life as a whole.

I am absolutly blessed with my friends, family, and everyone that surrounds me at work and in my everday life. Hurrdles mean nothing to me anymore and im ready to take on the world.

Goodnight all.
